How to disable printer driver updates when Microsoft updates its operating system

(Last Updated On: )

Sometimes Microsoft operating system updates can play havoc with ticket printer drivers, so you may want to manually update your printer drivers at a time of your choosing, instead.

Microsoft says:

  • Right-click the Start button and select Control Panel.
  • Make your way to System and Security.
  • Click System.
  • Click Advanced system settings from the right sidebar.
  • Select the Hardware tab.
  • Press the Device Installation Settings button.
  • Choose No, and then press the Save Changes button.
  • This will affect other devices, so it’s important that you keep them updated manually from time to time.
