Terms and conditions are the legal agreements between a service provider and a person who wants to use that service. The person must agree to abide by the terms of service in order to use the offered service. Terms of service can also be merely a disclaimer, especially regarding the use of websites.
They are extremely common because having one comes with a number of important benefits for both you and your users/customers.
The benefits include increasing your control over your business/platform, while helping your users understand your rules, requirements and restrictions.
We have had to add this due to PCI compliance and the banking industry. This is to benefit our clients in the case a patron issues a chargeback. When your patron agrees to your terms and conditions, more specifically to your ticket refund policy and privacy statement, this will be written proof your online patrons have agreed to your policies. In the case of a chargeback, you can use the T & C to contest the chargeback.
Center Stage Software creates a collapsible check box on your Webtix page that requires patrons to click Yes to “I agree to the terms and conditions” prior to purchasing tickets online.
NOTE: Please let us know you would like it to say and we will add it to your Webtix page. There is no charge for this.
- When patrons get ready to pay, they see this selection.
- If they don’t choose yes, they are not allowed to make a purchase.
- You can see that the patron has agreed to the terms and conditions in their sales record.
