Make your email receipt into your patron’s ticket instead of attaching a ticket PDF

(Last Updated On: April 9, 2018)

There has been an issue with delivery of ticket PDFs as attachments to an email that will only continue to grow.

If you are using Wintix 5, we highly recommend that you start telling your patrons that their email receipt is their ticket, instead.

With Wintix 6, this is not an issue.

Internet service providers (ISPs) view PDFs as a security threat and they remove them. There is not much we can do in Webtix 5.

Do a test sale using Webtix. See if you are getting a receipt emailed to both you and your customer. See if the PDF tickets are attached.

You will have 1 of 3 results:

  • You (or your customer) will not receive anything. This, we can fix.
  • You and your customer will receive an emailed receipt – with no tickets attached. We cannot fix this.
  • You will receive both your tickets and the emailed receipt. In this case, you are fine, for now.

The long term solution is to get away from PDFs altogether. This is what we have done with our latest version of Webtix – 6. Customers get their receipts and tickets on the screen when they complete the sale.

This is what it looks like:
