A Webtix user asked us if it is possible to use promo codes to create discounted seats for students:
Do we have control to do the following through Webtix:
1) Allow students with a promo code to buy Level B section seats at ½ price (22.50) online.
2) Allow e-blast customers with another promo code to buy the same Level B section seats at 65% (30.00) online.
Here is the solution to his question:
You cannot use the promotional codes for segregating by section. The promotional codes are generally for the run of a show. They can also be used for a single performance. They cannot be used for a single section for a single performance. Another way of saying this is that once you make a promotional code active, it is for the entire seating chart.
For what you want to do, you need to change the available price codes that are available in different sections.
The red section is only for price categories A and B. Rows G – M are only available for price categories C and D. Selecting seats in any section will only give you the prices available for that seat:
This is not difficult. Create a copy of the seating plan and modify it so the price codes are what you want. Next, make sure the price codes were available for the Internet domain. The entire process takes about 10 minutes. Check your work through a browser.
