Where is my Wintix backup?

(Last Updated On: July 31, 2015)

You backup Wintix every day, right? If not, you need to.

But where does the backup go? In Wintix 5, it goes to C:\Tix7\Output. In Wintix 6, it goes to C:\Wintix6\Output.

In fact, when you are in Wintix and go to Tools | Backup | Backup data, and your backup has finished, you see a message like this:

backup 7

There are at least two way to find it.

  • Go to Computer | C drive | Tix7 (or Wintix6) | Output
  • Or use Windows Explorer
    • The Windows Explorer program is located in Windows | All Programs | Accessories.  The programs are listed in alphabetical order. Look for Windows Explorer. Once you find it, click on the program.  A list of folders will appear showing what files are located on your C drive.  Look for Tix7\Output or Wintix6\Output.
  • You should be able to see a backup file that will list the name of the backup with today’s date, date modified, Type of file and size:  If the file size is only 1KB, then you didn’t get a good backup.  You should have a much larger file.
