Add a note to a sales record about comp tickets

(Last Updated On: December 3, 2014)

Every box office manager has faced a situation where they have given complimentary tickets to someone because of special circumstances. One of our customers had an instance where patrons thought they had completed a purchase online and showed up at the theatre to learn they had no tickets. The manager gave them house seats.

In cases like this, we highly recommend that you add a note to their sales records about why they were given comp tickets.

Go to the sales record and input this information into the General information tab.  (See screen shot below.) This is an important feature so that if months down the road, your boss, or even an auditor, wants to know “why were these seats given away” you can cover your tracks.  From experience, we know that it is difficult to remember  months from now why we’ve performed certain actions.  We can’t always remember.  We’re sure you will agree.
