- On the Wintix server computer, find the file named my.ini
- Double click on the file, which will open in Notepad
- In the SERVER SECTION of that file, type the command string, skip-name-resolve, (as seen in the screen shot below- in yellow.)
- Click on the red X at the upper right corner of that file
- Say yes, or save, when it asks you if you want to save the changes you made.
- Restart your mysql service
- Then, go to the workstation, double click on the WintixV5 icon and you should get connection to the Wintix server
